AMS4122
is a dual switching regulator capable to deliver up to 2A for each channel. Internally Compensated internal Soft Start makes AMS4122 one of the simplest and easiest switching regulators to use with the minimum external components. Each regulator has independent hiccup current limit. The Enable pin turns both devices on when a voltage of 2.5V or higher it is applied to EN pin. Since both devices share one single package the thermal protection turns off both devices when the die temperature exceeds approximately 135°C. Both regulators are adjustable using a 0.600V reference for low output voltage settings. The oscillators are 180° phase to each other to reduce the ripples on the input power supply and minimize the power dissipation on the package. The device can be easily configured for Two Phase single output switching regulator capable of 5A output load. By applying a 2.5V or greater on feedback pin of the second switching regulator the device enters in Two Phase Mode.
The first benefit of having a Two Phase device is reducing the output ripples by a factor of four as the single phase. The second benefit is higher output current capability at overall low cost. AMS4122 combined with AMS4123 (2A Switching Regulator + 1A LDO in SO-8) makes complete solution for LCD TV power requirements. Available in 8-pin SOIC EDP package.

AMS4123 combines a 3A Step-Down converter
with a 1A LDO in a single SO-8 exposed paddle
package. Both the LDO and Step-Down converter
are low ESR, ceramic capacitor output, stable. The
Step-Down converter is internally compensated with
internal soft-start to minimize the number of external
components. An Enable pin provides built-in
externally programmable power-up sequencing. The
Step-Down converter enable threshold is 2.0V and
the LDO enable threshold is 2.5V. It also has hiccup
current limit and thermal protection. Thermal
protection shuts down both the Step-Down converter
and LDO when the die temperature exceeds 135°C.
Both regulators are adjustable using a 0.6V
reference for low output voltage settings. The LDO
has options for fixed output voltages from 0.6V to 5V
in 100mV steps. The LDO external input can be
powered from the Step-Down converter output, for
improved efficiency, or from any voltage source that
is less than or equal to the device supply voltage
(Vin). With a dropout voltage of less than 350mV at
1A, the AMS4123 LDO makes the perfect solution
for a low noise 1.8V power source developed from
2.5V Step-Down converter output. The AMS4123 is
a complete solution for LCD TV power requirements
when combined with the AMS4122 (2A Dual
Switching Regulator in SO-8).

AMS4106
is a medium output current synchronous buck converter. The high side device is integrated into the device. The AMS4106 provides an adaptive gate drive for the external FET. For low current operation this can be replaced with a Schottky diode allowing asynchronous operation. The part has either a fixed internal present PWM frequency of 250 kHz, or externally adjustable up to 600 kHz, allowing smaller inductors where efficiency is less critical and faster transient response is needed.
The part uses current mode control for simple compensation and ease of use with low ESR capacitors. It uses a programmable soft start to reduce inrush current and allow large output capacitors to be used where very low ripple is required. The part has enable pin with virtual zero power in shutdown mode. A power good is provided with open collector to facilitate power ready functions. The part is available in SOIC 16 thermally enhanced packages.

AMS2596
is a high efficiency, non-synchronous
step down regulator delivering up to 3A of output
current making it ideal for medium to heavy load
applications. It is designed to operate with wide
input voltage range of 4.5 to 30V while maintaining
1mA of supply current at no load. The output
voltage is either factor programmed or set via two
external resistors to as low as 1.23V.
The regulator operates at fixed 150kHz switching
frequency ensuring low output ripple across the
entire load. It requires only four external
components for minimum PCB footprint and lowest
overall system cost. An independent Enable pin
provides electrical On/Off of the regulator. When
connected to logic high, the regulator shuts down
and consumes less than 100µA of current. Excellent
transient response is achieved with no external
compensation components.
The device provides under-voltage lockout, output
short circuit and over-temperature protection to
safeguard the device and under fault conditions. An
integrated soft-start controls the ramp of the output
voltage and minimizes the inrush current.
The AMS2596 is available in SOIC, TO220, TO252
and TO263 packages, and it is rated for -25 to
+125°C temperature range.
